Dear Friends,

What a blessed first few months we’ve had! Leroy and Jeanne started the year out with a trip to Washington, D.C. to work with YWAM leaders, and followed with a trip to Pasadena, CA, to train leaders at the Ekballo House of Prayer.

It was a privilege to see how students on both coasts had a hunger for freedom and wholeness. What an exciting time to work with emerging leaders to see them healed and set free as they cover the globe in missions and prayer!

Testimony: Transformed Marriage!

When a friend told me to look at Transforming Hearts’ website, I was hanging on by my last fingernail. I watched the video clips on their homepage and something hopeful stirred in my heart. I contacted them by phone, and to my surprise, Jeanne answered the phone. I explained that my husband and I had gone through months of counseling and we were desperate for a break-through in our marriage. I was impressed by Jeanne’s insightfulness during our conversation. She spoke truth into me, prayed for me on the phone, and we selected a date to come to Redding.

My husband and I have attended many marriage retreats, conferences and seminars, but never before found a successful way to get off of the “crazy cycle” in which we were living. The assignment to watch the DVD’s and complete our workbook started the process for each of us to “come clean” with the transparency needed for God to heal our Christian marriage. I knew my husband was struggling with guilt and shame, which in turn was causing me great pain. I couldn’t imagine how Leroy was going to tackle the challenge of getting to the ugly roots that had so badly tangled us up. I called Leroy to clarify the assignment, and I knew in that short phone call that this was someone qualified to handle our strong personalities.

We have been prayed over by dear Christian friends many times.  Never before had we gone to battle in prayer by anyone who knew our secret sins and wounded hearts so completely. Learning to truly repent in prayer (not just offer apologies to our spouse) along with praying to cast off bitterness and bind the enemy forces that seek to destroy our marriage has brought the freedom and peace we desperately needed. During our time in prayer, God revealed to me past hurts that I wasn’t even aware I had been carrying, apart from issues with my husband. On my own I was trying so hard in my strength to overcome strongholds that kept me nervous and anxious. In this first week since we returned home from Redding, I have experienced a sense of calm and joy I have not known before.

Our hearts are being transformed daily by the love of Jesus, and we are so grateful that God has chosen to use Leroy and Jeanne in this life-changing ministry for others. Every committed Christian couple that we know could benefit by this intensive counseling time spent together.

The Bible passage Isaiah 61:1-4 is what Jesus is doing through the Dillons:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on (Leroy and Jeanne), because the
Lord has anointed them to preach good news to the poor. He has sent
them to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners… to comfort all who mourn…
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness
instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of
despair. They (those being counseled) will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. They will rebuild
the ancient ruins (marriages) and restore the places long devastated; they
will renew (by God’s love and power) the ruined cities that have been
devastated for generations.”

Thanking God for you both.

A time to LOVE; a time to GIVE; a time to WALK IN FAITH and FORGIVENESS, rather than fear, hopelessness and bitterness. With so much going on, it’s often easy to walk into this time spiritually and emotionally unprepared with many expectations. We encourage you to take time with the Lord to hear His heart for your situation and to ask Him to show you His heart for the others around you. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (revealed).” When you see His heart for them, you can walk in the power of true love and avoid unfulfilled expectations (you didn’t even know you had).

A Modern-Day Christmas Miracle

“Honestly, I didn’t want to come here…” : Husband

“I must honestly say, I did not want to come here and do this ‘thing.’ I was depressed, discouraged, and hopeless. My wife and I were at loggerheads! We didn’t know what to do or where to turn. We had tried seemingly everything and at times we would do well, but my anger would always come back and I would withdraw from her and our family. It was like a rollercoaster ride, with me causing the downward plunges into the abyss. I love the Lord, my wife, and my children dearly, but my behavior was hurting them. I would shut down and then explode.

At Transforming Hearts Ministries, it didn’t matter what I had done, they were just here for me! There was no judgment, only gentle encouragement to let Jesus heal the wounds and pain from the past. (Is. 61:1) There were so many ways I had given ground to the enemy (Eph. 4:27) and I didn’t know it. We had powerful times of repentance from my heart and renouncing strongholds, which opened the door to who I really am in Christ.

Having my wife at my side through this journey of healing has been vital to our relationship. We can look deep into each other’s eyes the way we did when first married! We have a renewed sense of hope, trust and intimacy that we have not had in years.”

“I instantly knew we needed to come…” : Wife

“When we heard about Transforming Hearts Ministries, I instantly knew we needed to come, but I did not feel hopeful for our marriage. I just knew I had to try, for our kids’ sake.

We had done years of marriage counseling in our efforts to stop hurting each other. We were stuck, locked in a resentful, embittered relationship. We’d try to connect and care for each other, but it never lasted and we’d feel worse with each try. I never felt like I could rely on my husband AT ALL. I felt hurt by him and I needed to protect myself from him. Separation or divorce seemed to be the only possible option, unless I stayed in the relationship and died. I felt heart broken at how we were affecting our children.

As we started through the materials I began feeling hopeful, but still very uncertain. The positive testimony from friends who had been through Transforming Hearts Ministries was what kept me going and gave me hope to continue pressing forward.

It is amazing what God has done. For the first time in many years I feel HOPE again that our marriage can be good and that our kids can see that Christ’s work in us is real. I’ve always known that something wonderful was buried deep inside my husband. I saw it re-surface and I feel love and respect restored. We have truly experienced the love of Jesus and the real touch of His hand in our marriage. I’m excited to see where we go from here! Not once did we feel condemnation or shame here – such a different view for us – as it seems we have been through the ranks of un-helpful counseling experiences (although there was some good in some of it, too). Thanks, Transforming Hearts Ministries – we’ve gotten a picture of God and His heart for us, and who we can be in Him. He is always at work in our hearts!”

Leroy and Jeanne will be coming to Mott Auditorium in Pasadena, CA this January for a Transforming Hearts Ministries conference – TRANSFORMED: A Conference on Personal Freedom and Love. November Newsletter

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013

Dear Friends,

I (Jeanne) love Thanksgiving and this time of year; it’s kind of the “kick-off” for the whole holiday season. Giving thanks! Just the other day I found myself “anxiously” thinking about some things in my head that were troubling my heart. Then as I had my “quiet time,” the Lord led me to Psalm 100. God is so good; He comes right into the midst of our concerns and troubles. He knows just the answer, if we’re only willing to listen and obey. (I already know this, but I guess I need reminders; I don’t know about you.)

Verses 4 & 5 say: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”

In just doing what the Psalm said, I found peace as I “entered into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” Gratefulness opens my heart in humility as I remember He is worthy to receive my praise for who He is and for all that He has done. As I start thanking Him, trust grows in my heart that He has everything in His hands. As I pray, I give every concern to Him. Simple!

Also, humility opens the door for God to give me grace (the desire and the POWER to do His will), which means that if I need to forgive, God gives me the power to forgive. I WILL NOT forgive if I am proud. (James 4:6)

So I encourage you to “enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” Thank God for your spouse, for your children, for your parents, for others and for whatever He shows you.” If you find you need to forgive, go for it. Please let us know testimonies from your lives that would give hope and be an encouragement for others.

Where are the Dillons?:

This October, Jeanne had the opportunity to travel to Texas to spend two and half weeks counseling a special group of ladies. Hearts were transformed and relationships were reconciled as she met with each of them personally. Upon returning, Jeanne headed north to Washington State, for a month-long trip to welcome the arrival of the Dillon’s fourth grandchild – what a blessing! Meanwhile, Leroy has had a full schedule here in Redding, meeting with couples and single men, helping them to find personal freedom, wholeness, and their true identity in Christ. This fall, people have come here from California, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, Washington, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina.

Upcoming Events:

Leroy and Jeanne will be coming to the Pasadena, CA area this January for a Transforming Hearts Ministries conference – TRANSFORMED: A Conference on Personal Freedom and Love. Newsletter – September 2013

Monday, September 30th, 2013

Greetings once again from Redding! We hope you enjoy our latest collection of what’s happening here at Transforming Hearts Ministries!

What People Are Saying:

“There were conscious and unconscious ‘walls’ around my heart that were not allowing me to feel and express real love. It created a relational impasse between my wife and me. This father-wound ‘wall’ was one of the main root challenges that was dealt with. Transforming Hearts Ministries was able to address it and gloriously set me free! The key revelation that probably helped me more than anything was the statement that… “putting truth over emotional pain will not heal a heart or change a belief system. It takes an experience of revealed truth spoken directly by the Lord for healing to occur.” The entire process was truly a life changing experience for us, that established our marriage relationship on the most solid foundation we have ever known.”

Transforming Hearts Small Group:

Our son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Jillian, are co-leading our weekly small group session, made up of couples who have completed our curriculum and intensive. It’s rewarding to watch everyone sharing life together and learning how to live free as a community of believers. Each week we pray for breakthrough in each couple’s life, and are honored to carry each other’s burdens and see God bring transformation through healing, new life, joy, and hope.

Press On Because You Are Worth It!

One issue that surfaced in our small group is how to handle hurts you’ve received from those closest to you. If you feel hurt by someone, forgive immediately by getting alone with God to pray the Forgiveness Prayer. Be sure to listen to what Jesus says to bring peace to your heart. Only then can you safely approach the one who has hurt you to share how it made you feel. This will avoid damaging them with accusing words or lashing out in your own pain and allowing bitterness to fester in your heart. Hebrews 12:15 “See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”

What’s New at the Ministry:

We have a new addition at Transforming Hearts Ministries! Caryn Corbin joined us in the beginning of September as our Personal Administrator Assistant. She works with us part-time, and has begun the process of organizing and streamlining all that we do to make our ministry work. This means that you will probably be hearing from Caryn via email communication, answering phones, and sending text messages. Welcome, Caryn!

Where are the Dillons?

In July, we held a Transforming Hearts Ministries conference at the Ekballo House of Prayer with their School of Intercession in Pasadena, CA. This August, we were blessed to minister in Kansas City, MO for a period of three weeks. We saw lives transformed, marriages healed, and families connected heart-to-heart as we prayed with singles, couples, parents, and children.

Upcoming Events:

Stay tuned, as we partner with churches and ministries nationwide to hold Transforming Hearts Ministries conferences. We are currently in the process of working with ministries in Pasadena, CA, Washington D.C., and Colorado Springs, CO. Want us to come to your area?
